Mikael has more than 35 years’ experience in M&A and Corporate Finance. Since 2015, he has been advising investors and incumbents mainly in the energy infrastructure sector.
In the early part of his career, Mikael was involved in the management of an investment company owned by institutional investors focused on operational and financial turnarounds of distressed companies and real estate portfolio and debt restructuring. He was also a Vice President with Nordea bank within corporate finance and Chief Financial Officer at an OTC listed IT services company.
Mikael worked with the Swedish energy company, Vattenfall, from 1999 to 2015 focusing on power generation (hydro, wind, nuclear, gas, and coal), distribution and sales of electricity and heating in NW Europe. As Head of Group Mergers and Acquisitions during Vattenfall’s European expansion, Mikael oversaw more than 100 transactions with a total value exceeding 30 bn EUR. Transactions included utilities, assets and companies in the Nordic countries, Germany, Poland, Denmark, UK, The Netherlands, France and the Baltic states with transactions in onshore and offshore wind of 740 MW and 1800 MW respectively.
