Onshore Wind Conference 2022
Hosted by Scottish Renewables in collaboration with RenewableUK, the Onshore Wind Conference 2022 will focus on the need to scale-up growth of renewable energies to help reach net-zero and deliver an industry target of 30GW of onshore wind by 2030.
Discussions will cover topics such as accelerating deployment, planning, grid and market reforms, how the sector is evolving and expectations of what a renewable energy project should deliver.
Ventient’s ESG Manager, Holly Backhurst will join RES, Local Energy Scotland and The Ridge Group in a panel discussion on ‘Working with communities: engagement, benefit and ownership’ at 13:45. In light of the expected upcoming UK government consultation on ‘developing local partnerships for a limited number of supportive communities who wish to host new onshore wind infrastructure in return for benefits’, the panel will discuss:
- What the future of community engagement and benefit could look like?
- Letting the community decide – flexibility and case studies for delivering real benefit to communities
- Defining communities and demonstrating support
- Local Electricity Discount Schemes and other models for community benefit
