GRESB, the global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) benchmark for real assets, has released the results for the 2021 GRESB Assessment.
Ventient Energy reconfirmed its Sector Leader status for the third time in the 2021 GRESB Infrastructure Asset Assessment.
Ventient Energy is leading the way in sustainable wind power generation across Europe. We are delighted to announce we have been named once more the GRESB Sector Leader for our sustainability leadership in 2021 and ranked number one across all renewable and real estate companies measured for our performance.
This is an extraordinary achievement on two fronts. (i) This year Ventient Energy’s GRESB assessment reflected our growth, including our entire European business, which is the largest non-utility owned onshore wind business at 2.6GW, spanning six countries (ii) In such a challenging year due to covid and social change, the values of all companies are rightly under greater scrutiny by stakeholders
Sustainability is at the core of how we work. We are committed to continuously improving best ESG practices across the business to ensure we can continue to exist and operate in the most sustainable way possible whilst securing the future of the people and the planet.
Each year, GRESB assesses and benchmarks the ESG performance of assets worldwide, providing clarity and insights to financial markets on complex sustainability topics.
The GRESB Assessments are guided by what investors and the industry consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of asset investments and are aligned with international reporting frameworks, goals and emerging regulations. The GRESB ESG Benchmark grew this year to cover more than $6.4 trillion of assets under management, up from $5.3 trillion the year before.
The GRESB Sector Leader Awards recognizes real estate and infrastructure companies, funds and assets that have demonstrated outstanding leadership in sustainability each year.
“Sector Leaders are the organizations setting the pace and driving progress toward a net zero future. We are proud to recognize your determination, achievement, and leadership in creating a more sustainable world.” said Sebastien Roussotte, CEO of GRESB.
“At the core of our business are important values which demand that we perform to the highest standards and this includes our ability to be at the forefront in continual improvement of a sustainable business which can deliver stakeholder needs, and we thank GRESB for their independent challenge to ensuring this is a successful and fulfilling journey” added Ventient CEO, Mark Jones
