Ventient Energy has been recognised in the 2022 GRESB Infrastructure Assessment as Sector Leader in the categories of Renewable Power and Wind Power Generation, achieving Sector Leader status for the fourth time.
This year also sees the company achieve a score of 100 in the GRESB ratings, ranking 1st overall for all 3 categories: GRESB Score, Management Score and Performance Score, and receiving a 5-star GRESB rating.
Each year, GRESB assesses and benchmarks the ESG performance of assets worldwide, providing clarity and insights to financial markets on complex sustainability topics.
The GRESB Assessments are guided by what investors and the industry consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of asset investments and are aligned with international reporting frameworks, goals and emerging regulations. The GRESB ESG Benchmark grew this year to cover more than USD 8.6 trillion of assets under management, up from USD 6.4 trillion the year before.
GRESB data is used by hundreds of capital providers and thousands of asset managers to benchmark investments across portfolios and to better understand the opportunities, risks and choices that need to be made as the industry transitions to a more sustainable future. Having already achieved a score of 97 in both 2020 and 2021, the 2022 result reflects the continued ambition of the Ventient team in striving to constantly achieve high performance in sustainability in all aspects of the business, from people to operations and growth.
We recognise that ESG is an ever-evolving challenge and opportunity. GRESB is constantly updating the assessment in response to wider environmental and societal changes, and Ventient is evolving from onshore wind energy generation to a wider renewable energy portfolio. To maintain these high ESG standards in the face of change, the company’s dedicated ESG Team is working to achieve continuous improvement.
Ventient looks forward to working with our stakeholders and the industry to drive sustainable growth and ensure continued support for our people and communities.
“GRESB Sector Leaders are the top-performing organisations leading the way to a net-zero future and pulling the industry forward. We applaud this year’s Sector Leaders for their commitment, leadership and dedication to ESG and sustainability,” said Sebastien Roussotte, CEO of GRESB.
Ventient’s ESG Manager Holly Backhurst commented, “We’re delighted with this incredible result: GRESB recognition is an important confirmation of the efforts of our team in keeping ESG at our core. ESG is at the heart of everything we do and will remain so as we continue to target sustainable growth and to build for the long-term good of all our stakeholders.”
