Ventient Energy welcomes extension of operational life South Wales wind farm.
Ventient Energy welcomes the unanimous decision from Powys’ Council planning committee to approve its application to extend the operational life of the Bryn Titli Wind Farm in South Wales.
Ventient, an onshore wind energy company, said this decision is good for the local economy and for communities that benefit from the on-going funding it provides to various projects.
At its meeting on 14 June, the planning committee’s decision echoed the recommendation of the planning officer. It ensures that the wind farm has permission to continue to deliver clean, green energy until 2027.
Ventient Energy’s chief executive Scott Mackenzie said: “We believe that allowing existing wind farms to continue to operate is the right decision. Onshore wind farms are vital if the UK is it meet its environmental and sustainability objectives.
“It is not only good for Ventient, but also for the local communities that benefit from the on-going and increased community funding we will be providing, and for the local economy due to the continued operation of the wind farm.
“We are delighted that the planning committee recognised the clear merits of allowing the existing wind farm to continue to operate.”
The Bryn Titli wind farm features 22 wind turbines and has been operational since 1994.
