Chruach Wind Farm is located in Kilmichael Forest which is around 4km west of Minard in Argyll. The site ‘s 21 turbines are spectacularly set in the rugged Highland terrain, towering over the managed pine forest and looking north towards Loch Glashan. Construction work began in November 2014 and was completed in March 2016. As well as building the turbines, the project required the completion of over 13.5km of access tracks, built with locally sourced rock. The concrete for the turbine bases was also produced on site to limit environmental impact. The wind farm began full production in March 2016. ![]() |

The project was originally granted planning permission and was intended to run until 2019, but a new application has been submitted to allow the wind farm to run for many more years, potentially until 2027 as it continues to perform well, and contribute to the local economy and community projects. The wind farm is sited on a plateau just to the north of a Site of Special Scientific Interest between Rhayader and Llangurig, Powys. This was a major factor in the environmental assessment of the project and care was taken in planning the wind farm to avoid areas of ecological interest and to minimise its effect on the local environment. The current planning consent for Bryn Titli Wind Farm ends in 2019. The wind farm has proven to be in an excellent location for renewable energy generation and continues to operate well. It is, therefore, proposed to extend the operational life of the existing Bryn Titli Wind Farm until 31 March 2027 with a further 12 months to allow decommissioning and restoration of the site until 29 June 2028. ![]() |

Naturalis Energy Developments Ltd has developed proposals for a wind farm with the potential for solar and battery storage on site, on the southern edge of the North Kyle forest between Patna and Rankinston. The proposed site for Knockkippen wind farm, overlooks several former opencast mines. Between 1849 and 1965 there were around 52 ironstone and coal mines in the Patna area and mining was the mainstay of the local economy but subsequent pit closures have adversely impacted on local employment and economy. This renewable energy project will help the local – and Scottish economy – to meet its zero carbon target by 2045, generating clean, green energy from nature. ![]() |

Lissett is a long-established village in the Holderness area of Yorkshire ‘s East Riding. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, the village has an interesting recent history as it was home to the Royal Air Force ‘s 158 Squadron during the Second World War. During a two-year period towards the end of the war, 158 Squadron ‘s Halifax Bombers completed 250 missions, suffering the loss of 144 aircraft and 851 airmen. A memorial sculpture featuring 7 airmen was erected on the base and is dedicated to the memory of those lost during the war. The 12 Wind Turbines on the site are also named in commemoration of the site ‘s wartime past with eleven turbines named after aircraft that flew from the airfield and the twelfth to commemorate the six airmen who perished on July 2nd, 1943 due to an explosion in the bomb dump. Today, the village has a population of around 240 and its tranquil former airfield is home to 12 turbines, each rated at 2.5MW, giving the site an installed capacity of 30MW and generate enough energy to power . ![]() |

Mynydd Gorddu Wind Farm can be found in the county of Ceredigion, approximately 3km south east of the village of Tal-y-bont which itself is midway between the towns of Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. Historically, Tal-y-bont has close associations with lead and silver mining and with the woollen mills that once dominated the local economy. Work on the construction of the wind farm began in the winter of 1997 and it was completed in the spring of 1998. The turbines were installed by NEGM Energy A/S overseen by RWE npower renewables (NWP). The site was operated under a warranty operation and maintenance agreement until August 2012 before switching to Npower Renewables ‘ in-house technical department. Mynydd Gorddu Wind Farm has one of the most consistent outputs in the country. Its 19 turbines are of two different types, rated at 550kW and 600kW respectively. They have the capacity to generate 10.8 megawatts of power – enough to supply {{thisSiteHouseholdEquivalent}} with electricity. ![]() |

Where once there was open-cast mining for energy of a different kind, the North Steads Wind Farm generates enough power to run . The wind farm is located on land that was part of the East Chevington (Maidens Hall / Steadsburn) opencast coal mine, which ceased its operations in 1991. It was then restored to forestry and farmland in 2000 with work on the turbines beginning in August 2015. Six of the nine turbines are located within the forested area, with the remaining three in arable fields to the south. The project is also a close neighbour to the four-turbine (8.2 MW) Sisters Wind Farm which is also owned by Ventient. Acquired in 2015, North Steads ‘ 9 turbines are rated at just over 2MW, giving the site an installed capacity of 18.45MW with the ability to generate enough energy to power . ![]() |

Novar Wind Farm sits in a picturesque Highland location approximately 5.5 miles west of Alness. From its elevated position on an extensive Easter Ross shooting estate it enjoys commanding views of the Cromarty Firth and Ben Wyvis. As well as being steeped in the history of Scotland ‘s Highland clans, the area is well known for its contribution to Highland employment with a number of light and heavy industries based locally. The yards at Invergordon and Nigg play a significant role in offshore development in the oil and gas sectors and, more recently, have been heavily involved in fabrication for renewables including offshore wind farms. The wind farm was originally built by nPower in 1997 before being transferred to Beaufort, then Infinis and now Ventient Energy. Its 34 turbines are rated at 500kW and the site has an installed capacity of 17MW, generating enough energy to power . ![]() |

This wind farm is located near the English Channel, 6 miles to the east of Morlaix and very close to the national road going to Brest and Rennes. Around half a mile south of the site is the Monts d’Arrée massif, the highest point in Brittany (1,263 feet). In the surrounding area, the land is used partly for agriculture and party for local and regional light industry. The land on which the site is located belongs to private owners who use it for agriculture and stockbreeding. Energy production is channeled to an EDF power station approximately 5 miles away via an underground cable following existing roads, precisely to minimize the environmental impact. For the construction of the wind farm, turbines with a power of around 2 MW were chosen, for a total installed power of 10 MW. Clean energy produced per year equivalent to the needs of: Around 5,000 households Amount of CO2 saved: around 16 tons per year. ![]() |

Offshore wind
We are developing a pipeline of floating offshore wind farms to provide zero carbon energy to the Italian regions of Apulia, Sardinia and Calabria, as well as the Northeast and East coast of Scotland, in the UK.
Cutting-edge floating wind technology will enable the plants to be located in deeper water and further offshore, minimizing visual and environmental impacts while taking advantage of stronger and more consistent winds. We will bring community involvement and ownership to offshore wind for the first time, while developing local supply chains and creating jobs in the UK and Italy.
Onshore wind
We have 3.947 MW of wind power installed in Italy, Spain, France, Sweden, Norway, UK, Germany, Belgium and Portugal where we rank among the biggest private renewable energy operators.
When we develop onshore wind projects, everything we do revolves around partnerships – with landowners, the communities who live near our projects, the local workforce that helps build, operate and maintain them, and public officials.
Agrivoltaic and Photovoltaic
We currently have 288MW of solar PV capacity installed in Italy, the US and Spain. In partnership with academic and agricultural institutes, we are working on agrivoltaic projects, which integrate solar PV energy generation with agricultural production.
These solar panels automatically adjust their tilt maximise agricultural production and energy yield, creating a new industry and local jobs, as well as preserving soil fertility.
Energy storage
We develop standalone and renewables-integrated energy storage projects, which reduce pressure on the national grid and dispatch energy when it is needed. Our software solutions and simulators also support technical and economic feasibility studies.
We are the first company in Italy to provide fast reserve services to the Italian transmission system operator, while a 9MW/ 8MWh storage system helps to power the logistics platform of Vado Ligure’s port.
Biomass and waste to energy
We have 46MW of installed capacity in biomass and waste-to-energy generation in Italy, including a 15MW biomass power plant in Cosenza, a 20MW waste-to-energy plant in Milan and a 11MW waste-to-energy plant in Bologna.
Our community involvement
As an early leader in community engagement, we began building relationships with the communities around our onshore projects in the UK from the very beginning. We established the first community benefit fund in 2005, and now have successful and trusted community engagement and funding initiatives at all plants in the UK, Sweden, and Norway, as well as some of our projects in Spain, Italy and France.
Operational excellence
We constantly monitor and manage the performance of the entire power plants portfolio, ensuring meticulous management, and continuous innovation across the assets by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and data-driven insights.
Our core activities in asset management include providing sustainable and efficient energy solutions, conducting operations and maintenance, ensuring HSQE compliance for all business activities, and managing a robust and sustainable operational procurement strategy.
