Q. How long have you been at Ventient for?

A. Since October 2020.

Q. Matthias, in your time at Ventient what achievement are you most proud of?

A. I joined Ventient at a very busy time where many asset management functions were outsourced. I have been able to grab some of the responsibilities immediately to apply our standards in environmental, social and governance. I have reviewed the current day-to-day operations and operational asset management from an owner’s perspective and am improving the local business setup delivering commercial benefits and a high wind farm availability by applying high safety standards at the same time.

Q. What do you think about Ventient culture and the company’s support for people development and wellbeing?

A. Ventient works in different countries and is multinational having employees with a large diversity of backgrounds. It is a very transparent and communicative employer. It puts people at the centre of the business and provides an atmosphere where everybody can speak out what they think.

Ventient fosters gender equality and supports diversity, equity, and inclusion in many ways. The company recognises that wellbeing has a significant impact on employees, how they feel at work and on their happiness in general. Ventient offers a wide range of wellbeing support and benefits. On top of that Ventient provides smart learning tools and opportunities to participate in guided online training.

For me personally the most important fact is, that I can manage my own work schedule in such a flexible manner to combine family and a busy work life. Support and cross functional working is key. In our team we have a weekly call where we discuss topics which are in the interest of the team to be shared to find the right solutions. It is a cross functional initiative that gathers members from several teams such as commercial, engineering, finance, HR/IT, legal and operational performance to provide expert support to the asset management team.
