Q. How long have you been at Ventient for?
A. Since the acquisition of Iberwind, almost a year.
Q. Vera, in your time at Ventient what achievement are you most proud of?
A. A lot of achievements have occurred since Ventient has acquired Iberwind, but perhaps what makes me prouder is that I feel that in the last year I have learned and grown professionally a lot. Having the opportunity to working in a multicultural environment, with assets in different countries of Europe, with different jurisdiction, with syndicated loans with several lenders, with different challenges like Brexit and the Libor transition, the implementation of a new treasury system, etc. It’s a non-stop learning process.
Q. What do you think is the best thing about working at Ventient?
A. I’m proud of working in a group that cares about the environment and is willing to help building a sustainable future for all of us.
Q. What do you think about Ventient culture and the company’s support for people development and wellbeing?
A. I think Ventient culture reflects a young, multicultural, innovative, ambitious, and conscious group of people, that are aware that green energy will definitely help the planet become more sustainable, and that are always seeking new opportunities to enlarge the business.
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been working together with the Group Treasurer, in the treasury department at a group level, helping him to create the department, to optimise procedures, to minimise risks, and doing all that is needed to comply with our obligations towards the lenders and shareholders. Ventient has supported me and provided all the resources and tools needed to develop my work and achieve my goals.
In current times there’s an unconscious pressure of being always online and available, and it’s quite difficult to create barriers that separates professional from personal life. I think that Ventient is always remembering the importance of disconnecting and respecting the work hours, giving tips, and recommending actions. It’s great to have this kind of approach.
